Strawberry Mint Smoothie

 

Summer is almost here! The hot and humid days are coming, slowly but surely.
Here is a delicious smoothie recipe that’s refreshing, while also packed with essential nutrients.

Strawberry Mint Smoothie

Ingredients:

  1. 2 heaping cups strawberries (*fresh or frozen, but you’ll need to add ice if you use fresh fruit)

  2. 1 large ripe banana, peeled (fresh or frozen)

  3. 8-12 fresh mint leaves depending on how ”minty” you prefer

  4. 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of your choice)

  5. *4-6 ice cubes, if using fresh fruit

Optional Add-On Ingredients can include:

  • Honey

  • Chia Seeds (an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, rich in antioxidants, and they provide fiber, iron, and calcium)

  • A Splash of Orange Juice

  • Unsweetened Coconut Flakes

Mint and fresh fruit are also a great addition to unsweetened teas, water, or lemonade. They help add flavor without containing artificial ingredients or added sugars.
